Biography

Sharene Azimi is a writer and photographer living in New York City. Her novel, Crows in the Nightingale's Tree, was published in March 2007 and is available from booksellers including Amazon.com. Sharene has been a contributing writer for Argentina's English-language daily, the Buenos Aires Herald, and Manhattan's largest local news magazine, the New York Resident. Her feature articles have appeared in newspapers around the United States.

Sharene holds a Master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism and a Bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Wesleyan University.

She is passionate about travel and culture, having visited, at last count, 24 countries on 5 continents. The reason for this peripatetic existence may lie in her birth: she is the product of an Iranian father and a German-American mother who met in Puerto Rico--on vacation.
